“Leave No Trace” Wilderness Ethics
Leave No Trace of your visit to Funky Forest by incorporating these ideas and practices into your wilderness experience. We take pride in keeping our property and washrooms clean for our guests to enjoy – please respect these facilities during your stay.

*Sites left a mess will be automatically charged an additional $50 cleaning fee to the credit card on file.
Travel and Camp on Prepared Sites and Trails only.
Minimize impact at a campsite. Never scrape away leaves or needles.
Avoid enlarging existing sites. Clean your campsite when you leave. Pay particular attention to what you do in and around your campsite; you are camping in and amongst sensitive plants and fragile ecosystems.
What may seem like a harmless activity can cause long-term damage.

Dispose of Waste (and Waste Water From Cooking and Washing).
Pack out all trash and food waste left over.

Leave What You Find.
Avoid site alterations. Leave all sites as you found them. Do not dig trenches, level sites, or construct tables or chairs. Avoid damaging live trees and plants. Never hammer nails into trees or girdle trunks with tent lines. Leave natural objects and cultural artifacts. All natural and cultural resources such as rocks, antlers, or fossils, pot shards, and projectile points, must be left undisturbed.

Respect Wildlife and Properly Store Food

Observe wildlife from a distance. Do not follow, approach, or feed them. Feeding wildlife damages their health, alters natural behaviors, and exposes them to predators and other dangers. Protect wildlife and your food by storing rations and trash securely. Do not leave food or food waste at the campsite when you check out (it attracts all kinds of wildlife.)

Be Considerate of Other Visitors
Respect their experience and desire for solitude. Don’t walk through others’ camps. Please clean up after less thoughtful people who have gone before you.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome, but must be leashed at all times for the safety of other guests and wildlife. Please also clean up after your dog and dispose of waste by burying it.

Campfires
Campfires are permitted in designated campfire rings only. Campfires are prohibited when campfire bans are in effect, as defined by the Shirley Fire Department.

Funky Forest Inc. is not responsible for any theft of or damages to the vehicles or other property of visitors.

I have read and understood the above terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them.
